Gary Monheit & Dan Krimm Trio, with Jeremy Steinkoler and friends

We celebrated our trio album New Shoots with a very special one-time concert event.
Jeremy Steinkoler joined us on drums (leader of Mo'Fone and
co-founder of BandWorks). East Bay Express calls Jeremy "a very swinging drummer who's
mastered the art of coordinated independence" while Contra Costa Times says: "Steinkoler's
orchestral approach to the trap set is thrilling. He's a whirlwind of activity, filling up empty spaces
without sounding busy."
We also had two special guest artists joining us for much of this performance:
Bob Kenmotsu (sax), bandleader with six albums to his credit as well as sideman
with the likes of Jack McDuff and Pat Martino, is coming off a three-week tour of Japan
with his band in September.
Mary Wehner (trombone), consummate musician and educator, has played with the likes of
Dizzy Gillespie, Phil Woods, Benny Carter, Wayne Shorter, Wynton Marsalis, Joe Henderson,
Tito Puente, Pete Escovedo, and Carla Bley. Member of the acclaimed Bay Area band
Mingus Amungus as well as leading his own group, Funkbone, alumnus of the Berklee College
of Music, instructor at UC Berkeley Jazz Department and elsewhere, Marty's the real deal!
What a night! Our guests all were terrific, and we played at the top of our game.
